Adjudicator: Andrew Rees
Welsh tenor Andrew Rees studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
He has had an extensive international career performing in major concert halls and opera houses across the world and under the batons of numerous celebrated conductors including Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Tony Pappano, Sir Mark Elder, Sir Simon Rattle and Mark Wigglesworth.
In the UK, Andrew has sung with all the major opera companies including at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, where roles include Froh in Das Rheingold, Eisslinger in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Doctor Yes in the World Premiere of Anna Nicole. He also created four roles for Jonathan Dove
When he is not performing, Andrew is a sought-after teacher, coach and adjudicator. He has appeared on numerous occasions as a professional commentator at the prestigious Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and at The National Eisteddfod of Wales.

Rules

Please take note of Rule 3a: it is a condition of our Surrey County Council performance licence that all performers in school years 11 and below must be accompanied by an appropriate adult at all times while at Festival venues.
In addition, the following section rules apply;
- Children in choirs must be supervised at a ratio of no more than twelve children to one member of staff, to meet Surrey County Council safeguarding requirements;
- Choir leaders will be sent a form to complete and return in March, to confirm provisional numbers and the names of the teachers who will be in attendance;
- Choir Leaders must bring a register of names to the event;
- These details will also be required if your choir is invited to perform in the Gala Showcase.
